Q: How much
does a new website cost?
A:
A new website can cost as little as £159. For this you
will get a professional website with up to 4 pages, e.g.
Home, About us, Contact, Services/Products. There are a whole
host of additional features that can be added to the basic
website, some more complicated than others. Please call us
to discuss your requirements. We can then provide you with
a detailed quote.

Q: For
a new website, what information do I need to provide?
A:
This depends upon what you want from your new website. For
example, we may ask for:
- relevant business information.
- any logos, colours and styles.
- product or service brochures and leaflets.
- any relevant artwork or photos.
- content for the website, e.g. a description of a particular
service.
Electronic copies of the above information would be required.
Otherwise, there may be an adverse affect to the time and
cost in developing your website (due to typing or scanning
or editing).

Q: Will
I get email with my new website?
A:
If you host your new website with GingerSnapper then you will
have receive email accounts. You will also be able to forward
email to another email address. The service also comes with
server software which significantly reduces the amount of
spam you receive.

Q: I want
my current website updated - how much will it cost?
A:
There are many ways that you can update your current website.
You may wish to modernise the look of a site, or make your
website accessible. Alternatively, you may want to add new
features to your existing website. We charge from as little
as £25 per page. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
We can then provide you with a detailed quote.

Q: How much
will GingerSnapper charge to host my new/current website?
A:
If we design a new website for you then the price includes
1 years FREE web hosting (which is at
least £49 per year) and a UK website domain name (normally
£10 every 2 years). Subsequent years are then charged
at the normal rate. The "normal rate" depends upon
which additional web server features you require.
If you decide to transfer your existing website from your
current host then you will be charged the normal prices of
£49 per year. Your existing domain name will also have
to be transferred or amended. GingerSnapper make no charge
for this except when your current domain name registrant (i.e.
the company through which the name was registered) charges
an administration fee for the transfer.

Q:
What do I get if my website is hosted with GingerSnapper?
A:
For the basic web hosting package (of £49) you will
get:
- a bandwidth allowance of 2GB of traffic per month (about
40,000 pages viewed each month).
- web space of at least 200MB to store your website (equivalent
to about 4000 web pages).
- regular website backups.
- multiple email addresses and facilities to reduce spam.
- website statistics.
- control of your website by GingerSnapper.
- web server support for PHP and up to 5 MySQL databases.

Q: How do
I choose a domain name for my website?
A:
Choosing a good domain name is critical to the success of
your new website. For instance, obscure or overly long domain
names may be difficult for others to remember.
Domain names (e.g. www.gingersnapper.com) come with different
endings (called Top Level Domains or TLDs). For instance,
a .com TLD may signify a global company, whereas a .co.uk
TLD indicates a UK based company.
Some tips for choosing a domain name:
- choose one that is available - use 123-Reg
to find available domain names.
- choose a domain name that matches your brand name or
website.
- stay clear of hyphens in the domain e.g. www.ginger-snapper.com
- the .co.uk domain names are far cheaper to register
than .com ones.
- the shorter the domain name the better (but stay clear
of obscure acronyms).

Q: What are
the charges for additional website administration tasks?
A:
GingerSnapper can perform additional web administration tasks
for you. For example, websites that require frequent updates
or large amendments. We charge £25 per hour for such
tasks.

Q: How long
will it take to create my website?
A:
The development time will depend upon the size and complexity
of the website. We aim to turnaround basic websites within
10 working days. In order for us to work efficiently, we need
you to provide us with all the details and content that we
ask for. More complex websites can take anywhere from two
weeks upwards. As part of a detailed quote, we will also estimate
the development time. Once the website goes online, it may
take another few days for internet servers to acknowledge
the new website.

How long will it take to transfer my existing website?
A:
Assuming that there are no contractual issues them the transfer
time will depend upon a websites complexity and the ease of
access to website source. In straightforward cases, we would
aim to have your existing website transferred within 5 working
days.

Q: Can GingerSnapper
help me sell my products online?
A:
For both new and existing websites, GingerSnapper can provide
an online shopping facility. This facility will provide users
of your website with the familiar "shopping cart"
experience. Payments can then be made through secure 3rd parties
such as Barclays or PayPal. Please call us to discuss your

A:
GingerSnapper can assess your website in its current form
and then determine what would need to be done to make it more
accessible. After agreeing with you upon the appropriate level
of accessibility, GingerSnapper could then update your existing

depend upon the both the scale of the changes and the required

Q:
How do I pay you?
A:
For website design and creation, you will need to pay a 50%
deposit prior to commencement of the work, with the remainder
paid on completion.
Website hosting fees are to be paid in advance on a 12 month
basis.
All other work shall be invoiced and payment will be expected
within 30 days of the invoice date. We accept payment by cheque
or postal order. Cheques should be made payable to "GingerSnapper".
